Tyler Shupe Leather
Stirrup Hobbles – Leather Stirrup Hobble Straps, Light or Dark Oil (Pair)
Stirrup hobbles are the small strap that keeps your stirrup leathers and fenders pulled together just above the stirrup, so the stirrup hangs straight and doesn't twist or swing loose when you go to catch it. When the old ones crack, stretch out, or go missing, these are the fix. Cut from heavy leather, finished with a stainless steel buckle, and stamped with our maker's mark.
Pick your finish
Light Oil is cut from oak skirting leather — a firm, dense hide that holds its shape and darkens to a rich honey color as it takes on oil and sun. Dark Oil is cut from latigo, a hot-stuffed leather loaded with oils and waxes that stays supple and resists stretching, even after years of wet-and-dry ranch use. Match your fenders or run a contrast — both are sold as a pair and adjust the same way.

Questions riders ask
Will these fit my stirrup leathers?
Yes. At 12" long with six holes spaced 1/2" apart, they buckle snug around standard Western stirrup leathers and fenders, with room to spare for thicker or doubled leathers.
Do I get one or two?
Two. Every order is a matched pair, one for each side.
Which finish should I choose?
Go by the color of your fenders and stirrup leathers. Light Oil starts out a natural tan and darkens with use; Dark Oil is a deep chocolate-burgundy from day one. If your tack is somewhere in between, Dark Oil blends in with most oiled leather.
How fast do they ship?
Hobbles are kept in stock, so there's no build time — they go out as soon as your order is packed. Like everything we make, they're covered by our lifetime guarantee.
Re-rigging the rest of the rig? Look over our replacement parts and pieces, and if the stirrups themselves are worn out, our rosewood and stainless stirrups are built to the same standard.
