Curb Straps & Chains

Curb straps and curb chains for western curb and shank bits, handmade in our shop. The All Leather Curb is a 1/2" harness leather strap in dark oil with stainless hardware that adjusts on both sides; the All Chain Curb is an 11.5" galvanized chain whose clips move to any link, so you fine-tune the fit link by link instead of hole by hole. The rawhide button curb puts hand-braided rawhide buttons on a 5/8" leather strap, vaquero style. For a snaffle you want a two-buckle or round leather chin strap, which keeps the rings from pulling through without applying any leverage, and the paracord tie curb is the cheap, quick-adjust option for a training barn with a lot of bits.

Every leather piece here is made in the USA and carries a lifetime warranty against defects. Fit matters more than the strap: too loose and the bit rotates before it engages, too tight and the horse never gets a release. The rule we use is two fingers flat between the chain and the chin groove, explained in how tight should a curb chain be.
