Stirrups

Rosewood Western stirrups with leather-wrapped treads and stainless hardware. Treads run 2", 3", 4" and 5" wide, so a youth barrel racer and a big-footed ranch hand can both stand flat. The 3" rosewood stirrup is the all-rounder for trail and arena, with a slanted version for riders who want their heel dropped. The 2" comes straight or half cut, plus distressed pink, blue and turquoise finishes that barrel racers keep asking for. Ropers get rosewood roper stirrups and a mahogany roper, and there are oxbows for riders who ride with their foot home. If you would rather have metal, the 4" and 5" are also offered in stainless.

Wood is lighter than metal under a long day and warmer in winter, and rosewood is dense enough to take years of boot heel. Tread width is the one thing to get right; measure the widest part of your boot sole and check what size Western stirrups you need.
