Size: 3/4" width x 12"

A plain, hard-working leather dog collar: two layers of dark oil leather doubled and stitched along both edges, a stainless steel Jeremiah Watt horseshoe brand buckle, and a stainless D-ring for the leash. No buckstitch, no color, nothing to snag or wear off — just good leather, good hardware, and the Tyler Shupe stamp on the tail.

Choosing your width

The 3/4" width (12", 14", 16") suits small to medium dogs and sits lighter on the neck. The 1" width (16", 18", 20") is the pick for bigger dogs, hard pullers, and anyone who wants a collar with more presence. If your dog lands between the two, go with the 1".

What makes it a Tyler Shupe collar

The buckle is a Jeremiah Watt horseshoe brand design in solid stainless steel, so pond water, mud, and a sweaty neck won't rust or pit it. A stainless D-ring sits beside the buckle so the leash pulls on the strongest part of the collar instead of the strap. The dark oil leather comes from the same American tannery we use for our headstalls and reins; it starts a deep brown and takes on a soft gloss as it breaks in. The collar is doubled and stitched: two layers of leather laid smooth side out and sewn together full length along both edges with heavy thread, so it resists stretching, holds its shape, and puts a smooth face against your dog's neck instead of a rough flesh side. Every collar is stamped with our maker's mark, made in Eminence, Indiana, and built to last a lifetime, backed by our guarantee.

FAQ

How do I pick the right size?
Every size we list is measured from the fold at the buckle to the middle hole, so the size you order is the length your dog will wear it at with holes to spare on both sides. To find that number, take a collar your dog already wears comfortably and measure from the fold at the buckle to the hole you use, then order the size closest to it. No collar to measure? Wrap a tape around your dog's neck where the collar will sit, snug but with two fingers underneath, and use that. The sizing guide is in the photos above.

Should I get the 3/4" or the 1"?
Go by the dog, not the number. Small and medium dogs with lighter necks are comfortable in the 3/4". Big dogs, strong pullers, and thick-necked breeds get the 1", which spreads the pull over more leather and carries the wider buckle.

Do you make this collar in colors?
Yes. The same Heritage collar is available with buckstitching in purple, white, turquoise, and pink. You'll find them all in our dog collection.

How do I take care of it?
Knock the mud off, let it dry away from direct heat, and give it a light coat of leather conditioner a couple of times a year. The dark oil finish is in the leather, not on top of it, so there's nothing to peel or flake, and the stainless hardware needs nothing but a wipe.
